December 29, 1954 – July 25, 2025
Linda Gail Coen, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on July 25, 2025, at the age of 70.
Born on December 29, 1954, in Kansas City to Elmer E. Lampson and Ella Mae Lampson, Linda lived a life full of humor, strength and love for those closest to her. She was a proud Momma, Nonnie, Aunt, and Friend.
Linda spent her career helping others as a phlebotomist, beginning at the Community Blood Center and continuing with Prime Health and Humana for over 25 years. She later joined the Kansas City VA Hospital, where she served veterans as a supply tech until her well-earned retirement.
A lifelong animal lover, Linda opened her heart and home to many beloved pets and strays over the years. She often said she had “the best dog house in south Kansas City,” and her dedication to her fur babies was known by all who knew and loved her.
Linda is survived by her daughter Michelle Hart (Mark); grandchildren Ryan Hart (Coressa), Jenna Warren (Josh), and Casey Hart (Lauren), and seven cherished great-grandchildren: Giavanna, Amelia, Adrianna, Connor, Creed, Colter, and Evelyn. She also leaves behind her niece Sharon Kuhl (Frankie) and nephew Recke Lampson (Mindy), with whom she shared a very special bond, as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
Her best friend and soul-sister of over 60 years, Marilyn Nickle (Donny), remained by her side through life’s joys and challenges.
Linda was preceded in death by her beloved son, Randy Coen, and her parents.
Please join us in celebrating Linda’s life on August 9th at 12:00 PM at her favorite Mexican restaurant, Los Compas, as we raise a glass in her honor (9055 E State Rte 350, Raytown, MO 64133).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Wayside Waifs, a local animal shelter dear to Linda’s heart.
Linda’s legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty lives on through those she touched. She will be dearly missed.
