Lionel Cratus Crabtree, 78, passed away August 18, 2012. Lionel was born in Polk County, Missouri to Cratus and Alta Crabtree. He graduated from Hermitage High School and attended Rockhurst University. He spent six years in active duty in the United States Navy during the Korean War, retiring from the Navy after many years in the Naval Reserve. Lionel retired from Hallmark Cards in 1995 as District Manager after 37 years. Lionel was preceded in death by his parents and brother Darrell. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Candice Crabtree; children and their spouses, Gary and Jay Jay Crabtree, Jason and Mary Crabtree, and Brenda and Herman Davila; two brothers Bill and wife Cathy Crabtree, Harold and wife Sharon Crabtree, and his sister May Ann Scott. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Friday, August 24 followed by a memorial service 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64131. Burial will take place at a later date in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas.
