Lisa was born on August 18, 1970, in Sioux City, Iowa, to her father and mother, Duane and Linda Davis. Lisa would go on to attend the University of Iowa, earning a bachelor's degree in science and communications, being the first in her family to graduate from college. Lisa had an illustrious career in sales at Aveda, Book World International (BWI), and The Kansas City Star. She founded Mood Swings Beauty Salon and worked for the Kansas City Chess Club as lead instructor. She was also the personal assistant to Ann Willoughby, the founder of Willoughby Design.
Lisa is always going to be remembered for her beautiful and sweet personality, for her pure heart, for the kindness she showed to others, and especially for her unconditional devotion to her family and the ones she loved. We recall the joy she had in visiting the ocean and feeling its tides; the love she had for all trees, plants, and animals; and many other qualities too innumerable to attempt to articulate on a pamphlet.
Lisa is reunited in spirit and timeless love with her father, Duane Davis; her dear friend, Brad Engledanger; her grandmother, Helen Evans; and so many other angels waiting for her to join them. Lisa is survived by her husband, Larry Garcia; her son, Evan Garcia; her mother, Linda Davis; her brother, John Davis; the Garcia family; the Bush family; and all else who adored her.
A visitation will be held on August 1, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at McGilley Antioch Chapel, located at 3325 Northeast Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64119. A memorial service to honor Lisa will follow at 3:00 pm.
