Washington Cemetery, 614 Brookside Dr., Independence, MO. Lloyd was born to Ed and Ethel Finley on January 28, 1920 in Versailles, MO. He grew up in Barnett, MO, and graduated Valedictorian of his class in 1938 and went on to study engineering at the University of Missouri. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Chloe Rouse, on Nov. 20, 1942 in Camdenton, MO, and they were inseparable for nearly 69 years. Lloyd was a WWII veteran, held the rank of Staff Sgt. in the Signal Corps with the Army's 7th Division and was a member of General Corlett's Long Knives' staff when they landed and retook the Aleutian Islands from the Japanese. He was a man of great faith and lead many people to the Lord. He served as Deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. He was a member for 40 years at Bethany Baptist Church and was a current member of Forest Grove Baptist Church. For the past 14 months he attended church with family at First Baptist Church of Lee's Summit when he was able. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth; and daughters: Linda Giese (Don), Beverly Zuber (Walt), Nancy Eaton (Mike), Deborah Miranda (Moses), and Susan Scott (Phil); grandchildren: Shelia, Rachel, Greg, Melissa, Megan, Nathan, Laura, Michelle, Kevin, Stephanie, Phillip, Sant; great grandchildren: Laci, Kyle, Ryan, Elizabeth, Irina, Conor, Erik, Sarah, Joshua, Ethan, Gabriel, Megan, Jacob, Isaiah, Grace, Samuel, Liam, R.J., Isabella, Emmerson, Katelynn, Tori, Sant Jr., Jaxson, Reed, Karalina, and Khloey and Carter (soon to be born); great-great grandchildren, Katelinn and John. Lloyd was loved dearly by his family and friends. He was respected by everyone he came in contact with and was known for his mischievous sense-of- humor and had a smile that melted hearts. He was a man of few words but spoke with great wisdom. The highlight of his life was being surrounded by his loved ones, especially the little ones. He will be missed so much, but we are celebrating with him the victory of his resurrection in Christ. We will never say goodbye . . . only "Until we meet again". We want to take this opportunity to thank Village Hospice (JKV) for the care, love, and concern they gave Lloyd and his family. They truly became a very special part of our family during this very difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you would make a donation in memory of Lloyd to Village Hospice, 400 NW Murray Road, Lee's Summit, MO 64081. Arrangements under the direction of McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home, 11924 E. 47th St., Kansas City, MO 64133 (816 353-6555).
