Lloyd Aaron (Wayne) Kreiling, Jr. (70), son of the late Wayne Kreiling, Sr. and Patricia (Doolan), passed away at home on August 27, 2024. He said he was ready to go home after a two-year battle against lung cancer. He will be laid to rest beside his brother Danny Kreiling, his parents, and grandparents Lloyd and Louise Kreiling at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, in Kansas City, Missouri. Wayne moved around the Kansas City area during his childhood and met his high school sweetheart Sharon Brown his freshman year at Fort Osage High School in Independence, Missouri. They celebrated 51 years of marriage earlier this year. He spent the better half of his career employed at the Kansas City Star with his dad and brother. Wayne embarked on a journey as a small business owner selling Matco Tools for 5 years. Tinkering in the garage was his hobby and he will always be remembered as the fixer of all things. Wayne and Sharon had two children: Natalie (married to Todd Ohmart) and Aaron Kreiling III (married to Tara McCracken). A fun era of our childhood with Dad was in the 1980’s when he was crew chief on a dirt track stock car. We spent many Saturday nights enjoying the love of motor sports with him. As we got older, he became an assistant coach for Aaron’s baseball team and was a regular cheerleader for all of Natalie and Aaron’s sports activities. Wayne was a family man who placed priorities on the needs of his wife and children over his own. There was never a time we couldn’t rely on him to be there for us when in need. He would say “I’m just glad I can still do it". He was grateful to have the physical ability to help anyone including DYI home projects, broken stroller wheels, cutting down trees, or just bringing the tools to do the job. Dad never met a stranger and could talk anyone’s ear off. Wayne became a member of the Elks Lodge of Blue Springs, Missouri. He loved riding his motorcycle with Natalie and Todd. As well as fishing, building campfires, conquering fears of water, and camping at the lake with Aaron, Tara, and Garrett. Many great memories were shared going on family trips in the travel trailer together. Sharon says he was not good in reverse, but he rode this life until the wheels came off! Survivors include two grandchildren: Mi’Kayla Figueroa (married to Gabriel Figueroa) and Garrett Kreiling; two great grandchildren: Matias Figueroa, and Juan Figueroa; and several nieces and nephews.
