

Lloyd “Smitty” Schmidt, 88, Kansas City passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 15, surrounded by family. A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, Jan 17 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City.
Smitty was born Dec. 5, 1926 to William and Minnie Schmidt in Nelson, NE. After service in the Army during World War II, he married the former Alline Jensen in 1947. Smitty pursued a career in men’s clothing sales, eventually settling in Kenosha, WI. He retired from Leaders Store in 1992. He loved people, never met a stranger, enjoyed oil painting, woodworking, bowling and was an avid Packer fan.
Predeceased by his parents, sister, Muriel, and his beloved Alline, Smitty is survived by his children Pam Schmidt, Pat (Joe) Greenwald, Debbie (Jeff) Grimes, Barb (Rob) Ketchum and Greg (Linda) Schmidt; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a nephew, Larry Dean Doll.
