

Jane passed away In Kansas City, Missouri on Monday, July 18th, 2011 at the age of 87. Jane was born March 24, 1924 in Patton Township, Pennsylvania to Darius W. and Tessie Pauline McCord, both deceased. She had one sister, Virginia McCord Larouere, and a brother-in-law Thomas E. Larouere, both deceased. She is survived by her husband, Calvin E. Mock, of the home to whom she was married 68 years; and by one daughter, Karen Mock VanDyke (Mike) of Kansas City. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Kevin S. VanDyke (Meghan) Denver, Colorado; Lauren M. VanDyke, Seoul, South Korea; Cory C. VanDyke, Kansas City; and Ryan E. VanDyke, Kansas City, and one great grandchild, Eamon Thomas VanDyke, Denver, Colorado, (6 weeks old) - who she met for the first time the evening prior to her death. She is also survived by two very dear nephews, Tim and Chuck Larouere and their families in Pennsylvania. Jane graduated from Turtle Creek High School, Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania and lived in Monroeville, Pennsylvania most of her life until she and Cal moved to Prairie Village, Kansas in 1995 to be near their daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Jane was a member of Monroeville Christian Church and upon moving to the Kansas City area, she and Cal became members of Country Club Christian Church. Jane dearly loved her family. Her grandchildren were her shining stars. She will also be very busy watching over her favorite family member, Shamrock, i.e. “Rocky”, the family Shih-Tzu, who died less than 24-hours before she did. Mom, we love you and appreciate all you did for us and we will always miss you. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 23, 2011 beginning at noon, followed by a brief ceremony at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Moriah & Freeman Chapel, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131, (816) 942-2004. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in Jane’s memory be made to Notre Dame de Sion High School at 10631 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64114 or Avila University at 11901 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64114, the Alma Maters of her granddaughter, Lauren.
