Lois A. Thomas

Lois A. Thomas, 87, Platte City, MO passed away October 1, 2019.

Funeral services are 1:00 PM Monday, October 7, 2019 at McGilley Antioch Chapel, burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, MO; contributions are suggested to Covenant Baptist Church, Kansas City, KS.

In addition to Platte City, Lois had also been a resident of Kansas City "Northmoor" area, Weston, and Lake Waukomis, MO. Some of her happiest years were spent with her husband and 3 young sons at their farm in Weston. Their Weston hilltop activities included managing black angus livestock, the Cape Cod Restaurant, Blue Hills Barbeque Restaurant, Blue Hills Amber Room, and The Carousel Cafeteria on Troost Avenue in Kansas City, MO.

Lois had varied and diverse interests and faced many challenges in life, especially in later years. She found support with her friends from church. She was also an active volunteer serving area organizations including Wexford Retirement, Shepherd Center and other groups during her three sons' school years. She was an active member of Covenant Baptist Church, Kansas City, KS.

Lois will be laid to rest by her husband, Edward Cross, and sons, John Cross and Mark Cross.

Lois is survived by a son, Frank Cross, and other extended family members.

Mrs. Lois was one of the sweetest followers of Christ I have had the pleasure of knowing. She was loving, kind, and encouraging. I loved her dearly and will miss her tremendously. The love she had for Jesus was displayed in the thoughtful things she did. See you soon sister.
