Loren was born to William and Gwendolyn Keltner on October 19, 1926 in Wichita, KS. He graduated from Wyandotte High School, Kansas City, KS where he excelled in track and football. Before and after school he threw the paper for the Kansas City Star. During World War II, he worked at the Army Medical Depot where he met his future wife, Rosemary Sedler. He joined the Army-Air Corp. Loren and Rosemary were engaged for four years until his return from the service. They married September 27, 1947 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Kansas City, KS. They were parents of a large family of seven children. Loren worked as a fire sprinkler engineer before retiring in 1999 and was well known throughout the industry. Loren was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Rosemary; and their children, “Baby Boy”, Donna, Terry, Bill, and Becky. Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Keltner and Steve (Mary) Keltner; and a brother, Richard (Mary) Keltner.
Visitation is from 5-7 PM Sunday, June 24th at the McGilley Antioch Chapel where a Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 AM Monday, June 25th, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 4737 N Cleveland, Kansas City, MO. Graveside services will be 1:30 PM Monday at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Sisters, Servants of Mary.
