Lorene Pearl Gearhart

Lorene was affectionately known as "Midge" and was born November 20, 1931 in Concordia, MO to Louis and Nora Driver.

Lorene's family later moved from Concordia, MO to Raytown, MO where she met her future husband Hobart Gearhart while in High School. They later wed on May 19, 1949.

Lorene worked at JC Penneys and Kmart in Independence, MO before leaving the workforce to raise her 6 children.

Lorene enjoyed making candles and other crafts as well as helping her husband Hobart with his wood working. They enjoyed attending craft festivals together where they sold their many crafts.

Lorene enjoyed traveling, camping, boating and spending time with her family.

Lorene was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Hobart, son in-laws Mark Chapman and Terry Waddell, and granddaughter Juli Chapman.

Lorene is survived by her children Margie (Rick) Stevens, Deborah Chapman, Rick (Becky) Gearhart, Randy Gearhart, Tanya Waddell and Leanna (David) Dinwiddie, as well as 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Monday, April 15th, 2024 at Newcomer Floral Hills Funeral Home located at 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133. Visitation will be from 1-2 pm with the service starting at 2 pm and burial immediately following

A funeral service will occur Monday, April 15, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133. A graveside service will occur Monday, April 15, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133.
