

Louis F. Drackert, Jr., 89, Kansas City North, passed away February 4, 2016 at North Kansas City Hospital. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 9th at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 4737 N. Cleveland, Kansas City. Burial will be at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Tipton, MO. A visitation is scheduled on Monday, February 8th, at the McGilley Antioch Chapel, where a rosary will be prayed at 5:00 PM and visitation will continue until 8:00 PM. The family suggests contributions to the American Stroke Association or St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
Louis was born August 16, 1926 to Louis I. Drackert Sr., and Margaret G. (Schollmeyer) Drackert in Tipton, MO. He was the 1944 valedictorian of Tipton High School. Louis was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving in radio communications. On May 8, 1948, he married Mary M. Hickcox at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tipton. They made their home in Kansas City where Louis was a self-employed home builder in the Northland area, a member of the Home Builders Association, and a lifetime Missouri Real Estate broker. Louis owned LOU-ACK, Inc. and Village Antiques. He was an established antique and collectibles dealer at the Westport Flea market. Louis and Mary were founding members of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Heiman.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mary M. Drackert; daughter, Rita LeVota and son-in-law, Joe; daughter, Margie MacLeod and son-in-law, Jim; son, Louis J. Drackert III and daughter-in-law, Helen; daughter, Debby Lightner and son-in-law, Roy; and daughter, Dolores Laubach and son-in-law, Larry; grandchildren, Dr. Louis M. Drackert IV, David MacLeod, Mark LeVota, Mike Drackert, Roy R. Lightner, Patrick LeVota, Robert MacLeod, and Melissa Louise Bock; and 2 great grandchildren, Mischa Drackert and Louis Cole Drackert V.
