Born on May 23, 1940 in Dawn, Missouri, Lowell was a hardworking, dedicated and devoted family man. He was raised on a farm with his parents, sister and two brothers. At age 18, he joined the Navy, where he worked in the machine room of an aircraft carrier. After serving four years, he was honorably discharged, he met his wife Judy in Kansas City, and they wed on November 14, 1964. They had two sons, David and Doug.
Lowell worked underground construction for the Kansas City Power and Light company for 33 years and retired in August 1999. He loved bluegrass and country music, as well as being an avid reader of western and spy novels. Most Saturday nights you would find Lowell watching bluegrass and country music on TV.
More than anything, Lowell loved to work in his basement workshop where he used his God-given talents that would bless his family and friends over the years with special keepsakes that only his unique craftsmanship could provide. Lowell's many projects included making cabinets, desks, bookcases, and even helping others build barns.
He was dedicated to his church family and used his woodworking and electrical wiring skills towards the building expansion for Lee's Summit Bible Church where he served as a board member for many years.
In his later years, he took great interest in handcrafting wooden models of tractors and construction equipment, many of which he gave away to his loved ones and those he called friends.
