It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lucille Clark-Autry on April 2nd, 2025, surrounded by love. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, cousin, aunt, sister, and friend—someone who brought light and joy to every life she touched.
Born in Enterprise, Oklahoma, Lucille lived a life rooted in love, strength, and compassion. She had an endless appreciation for books, often getting lost in the shelves of her favorite bookstores. But nothing meant more to her than spending time with the people she loved—family and friends who were blessed to be part of her world.
Lucille was sharp as a tack and full of wit, known for her wicked sense of humor that could make a whole room laugh. She loved fiercely and without limits, always showing up for the people she held dear. A strong, God-fearing woman, she carried others constantly in prayer—those she knew and those she didn’t.
Her favorite color was yellow, and like the flowers she adored, she radiated beauty, warmth, and quiet strength.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Ira Williams, father, her Sinclair Clark, her husband, Benjamin L. Autry, her only sister, Marie Clark, and her two sons, James Bishop and Russell Bishop. She is survived by her children, Sharon Bishop, La’Vetta Ross, LeMell Patterson and Benjamin L. Autry Jr., along with nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a host extended family and friends —all of whom carry forward her enduring legacy of love, humor, and resilience.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home on Friday, April 11th, 2025 at 1:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow immediately at Mount Moriah Cemetery South. In honor of her love for flowers, guests are encouraged to wear yellow or bring a single bloom in her memory.
Lucille will be deeply missed and forever treasured in the hearts of all who knew her.
