The daughter of Jewel & Mary Mabel Phillips, Byrl was born on April 25, 1921 in High Point, Missouri. She resided in Kansas City for 63 years. Prior to graduating from Central Missouri State University, Byrl taught in a rural one-room school house. Later, she taught at Garfield Elementary School for 25 years. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa International. Byrl volunteered in excess of 35,000 service hours to Baptist Memorial, St. Joseph, Research Medical Center, and Trinity Lutheran Hospital, where she was honored as Volunteer of the Year. Byrl sewed 2,875 robes which were distributed to patients at Truman Medical Center. She was a member of Connection Point Church - Raytown, formerly 1st Baptist Church of Raytown, Missouri.
Byrl was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 50 years, Leland Royce Rebstock. She is survived by her daughter Jacquelyn D. Nickerson, Louisville, Kentucky, and sons Gary D. Rebstock, Henderson, Nevada, and Dr. Marc E. Rebstock, San Marino, California. Byrl had six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. A Committal Service will take place following the service.
