Mrs. Luce worked for many years at the J.C. Penny store at the Blue Ridge Mall. There she made many close friendships and for years enjoyed getting together with her Penny’s gals for breakfasts, luncheons and get-togethers. In Lurlene’s long life she had been many things to many people. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Lurlene loved her family and friends and she particularly enjoyed family reunions and get-togethers. She was a fantastic cook and many an occasion was made even more special by her great dinners.
