

Luther O. Taylor, 93, Kansas City, Missouri, died March 9, 2012 at Kansas City Hospice House. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 12 at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Entombment in the Faith Mausoleum at Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. Luther was born July 22, 1918 in Buckhead, Georgia, son of John Henry Taylor and Sara E. Davis. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific Theatre at Guadal Canal and New Britain. Luther met Shirley, his wife of 66 years, while recovering from Malaria in a naval hospital in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Luther worked for Bendix/Honeywell for 35 years, retiring in 1985. He is a life member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, in 2011. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Hardman of Sun City, Arizona; two sons, Larry Taylor of Parkville, Missouri and Len Taylor and wife Dana of Liberty, Missouri; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
