Lynette was born in Kansas City on September 15, 1956, along with her identical twin sister, Lynda, her closest life-long friend. She grew up with her parents, Tom and Barbara McCall in Kansas City, Kansas along with her sister Lynda and her brothers Tom Joe McCall and Michael McCall. Lynette and Lynda attended Turner High School and were cheerleaders together. Among their friends and much of their family, they were known as “The Twins” because they were identical through and through.
Lynette married Pete Ruddick in 1982, and they raised two daughters, Lyndsay and Lauren in Olathe, Kansas. True to their twindom, Lynda also married a Pete and had two daughters, Lesly and Hallye. The four girls have always been very close, both genetically and in fact.
She had a long career in the corporate sales division of Hallmark Cards, where she developed many close friendships that lasted the rest of her life, many by her side to the very end.
While busy with work and raising two daughters, she earned her Degree in Business Administration from Baker University.
Lynette loved attending her girls’ and then her grandkids’ sporting events. She loved her dogs and her travels.
Early on in her fight with her incurable cancer she planned with the University of Kansas Willed Body Program to donate her body for research and annually participated with family and friends in the OVERRUN Ovarian Cancer Run/ Walk in Overland Park.
She is survived by her husband Pete of Leawood, Kansas; her sister Lynda, now living in Louisville, Kentucky and Estero Florida; her brothers Joe of Anaheim, California and Mike of Shawnee, Kansas; and daughters Lyndsay Reeves of Spring Hill Kansas and Lauren McGovern of Chicago, Illinois. Her grandchildren are Charlotte Cast, Durham Reeves, Benjamin Cast, and Myers Reeves, all in Spring Hill Kansas and Olathe schools, and Murphy McGovern of Chicago, Illinois. She loved them dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a memorial contribution to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance. https://ocrahope.org/get-involved/ways-to-give/make-a-donation/
