Today we celebrate the short but beautiful life of Mackenzie (Mickey) Kathleen Hopkins. Born on April 10, 1997, and gaining her angel wings on January 15, 2022. Mickey was a ray of sunshine who couldn’t help but brighten every life she touched. She was a beloved friend, sister, daughter, granddaughter and most importantly, a fiercely devoted mother. Nothing was more important to Mickey than filling her daughter’s life with love and joy. Mickey was committed to making a positive impact on the world and it was a better place for having had her in it.
Mickey will be missed by many: her family, friends and countless others whose lives she touched, including through the care she provided as a nursing assistant. Mickey had big dreams. On top of all that she had already accomplished, she was actively pursuing a nursing degree in order to elevate the care that she could provide to others. She was always going the extra mile to ensure her patients felt like her only priority.
She was preceded in death by her Grandpa Tractor and survived by her parents, brother, sisters, grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss her bright light every day.
Mickey should be remembered for her unyielding positivity, endless acts of kindness and limitless love for others.
A visitation for Mackenzie will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133, followed by a memorial service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
