Marcella "Marcie" Katherine Garifo Hedges

Marcie (Blocki) Garifo-Hedges was born November 25, 1930, in LaSalle, Illinois and passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024 in Kansas City, Missouri at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, MO surrounded by her family. Graveside services will be held at the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Thursday, September 19, at 11 AM with a memorial mass at St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church at a later date.

Marcella (Marcie) Katherine was born November 25, 1930, in LaSalle, Illinois to Max and Julia Blocki. She married George L. Garifo on November 12, 1949 at St Roch’s Catholic Church in LaSalle, Illinois. They were married 27 years until his death in 1976. Marcie worked in customer service for many major department stores in LaSalle, IL, Ames, IA and Kansas City, MO. Marcie later married Joseph Hedges in 1983. Marcie had a love for traveling and took every opportunity to make memories with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandee Keller (Kansas City), and son, George Garifo (Kansas City), Grandchildren, Christina (Brian) Budzinski, Clint (Crystal) Keller, and Charleen (Nick) Fantasma, all of Kansas City. Grandchildren, Victoria and Alex Budzinski, Callen Keller, Luciana, Dominic, and Luciano Fantasma.

Marcie was preceded in death by her parents, Max (1988) and Julie (1977), her husband George Garifo (1976), husband Joseph Hedges (1999), brother, Joseph (1928), brother, Robert (1995), sister, Irene (1940).
