Marci was a woman of deep faith in Jesus Christ, whose life was marked by extravagant servanthood, loyalty in friendship, wise counsel, and generosity of heart. Her devotion to Jesus and to the truth of His Word was central to who she was and how she lived.
Above all, Marci was devoted to her family. She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren deeply, giving herself faithfully to the people entrusted to her care. Her home and relationships were an expression of her love, and those closest to her knew the depth of her commitment, kindness, and steadfastness.
For many years, Marci also volunteered at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, serving faithfully as an expression of her love for the Lord and His people.
Marci was a loyal friend who offered wise counsel, generous love, and a rare willingness to stand with others in their most difficult moments. She embodied the kind of friendship that does not stand at a distance from another person's pain but draws near and remains present.
Marci's life was a testimony to the power of faithful love, sacrificial service, and wholehearted devotion to Jesus Christ. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue through the lives she touched and, especially, through the family she loved so dearly.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Sorge; her mother, Barbara Smith; her brothers, Buck Smith and his wife, Linda, and Todd Smith; her children, Joel and Anna Sorge, Katie and Ben Hebbert, and Michael Sorge; and her grandchildren, Audrey, Noah, Alexander, Maxwell, Emma, and James.
