She then moved to Kansas City where she graduated from Westport High School. It was then that she wed Steve Lacey and together they raised three children Stephanie, Chris, and Cari. After raising a family Marcia went out on her own and it was then while working at Bausch and Lomb Co. that she met James (Jim) Haire, and enjoyed 22 wonderful years of marriage. Marcia was blessed with seven grandchildren, Jordan, Kelci, Alexandra, Dallas, Cameron, Sean, and Leilani along with three great-grandchildren Owen, Blake and Casper who she doted on and spoiled beyond belief.
Marcia and Jim enjoyed many travels with their favorite spot being Keystone, Colorado, also known as “Their Happy Place”. Walking the trails, feeding the chipmunks to her delight, or just enjoying a coffee on the porch while watching the sun come up over the mountains gave her great joy. Marcia will be remembered as a beautiful soul and her heart shined in our families and as one who cared for others and their happiness more than her own. She will be sorely missed but her memory will be cherished by the ones who love her.
Marcia was preceded in death by her father Wendell Pickett, mother Lillian Pickett and sister Laura Graham.
She is survived by her husband Jim Haire of the home, sisters Ethel Raines and Mary Pickett-Jones, and brothers Morrill (Butch) Pickett and Allen Pickett along with many nieces and nephews. Marcia leaves behind her beloved children daughter Stephanie Dodd and husband Bryan, son Chris Lacey, daughter Cari Sullins and stepdaughter Kelsie Haire. And finally, we have her cherished grandchildren, Jordan Dodd, Alexandra Dodd, Kelci Stephenson, Dallas Snow, Cameron Snow, Sean Cerny, Leilani Haire and great-grandchildren Owen and Blake Dodd and Casper Chard.
Donations in Marcia’s memory can be made to Cross-Lines Community Outreach.
