Sallee (Steele) Griggs, 86, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. The family requests no flowers.
Sallee was born August 26, 1927 to Ronald and Mary White and was named Margaret Sallee White. She married Jack Steele, August 27, 1947 and became a loving mother of three sons. She is survived by Donald, Richard and Paul Steele and their families. She is also survived by Ron White, Sallee’s brother.
She was a member of the Central Methodist Church in Kansas City. After Jack Steele passed away, Sallee married Robert Griggs. Sallee loved playing bridge and was an avid reader. She was an accomplished artist and painted in water colors. She also sketched portraits in pencil. She will be missed by all who knew her.
