Maria Teresa Bernal, 79 of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on June 30, 2026, at Saint Luke’s Hospice House. Teresa was born on July 13, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri to Refugio and Elisa (Duarte) Bernal. Teresa was a Guadalupana.
Teresa is survived by 4 sisters, Helen Bernal, Margaret Garcia (Rudy), Martha Soltero (Jose) and Dolores Valverde (Bob). Teresa was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary L. Paredes, Henrietta Calderon, Carmen Morales, and Alice Bernal and one brother, Ralph Bernal.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, with the Rosary prayed at 10:40 a.m. at Sacred Heart-Guadalupe Shrine, 907 Cesar E. Chavez, Kansas City, Missouri 64108. Mass of Christian Burial will be followed at 11 a.m. Burial will follow the Mass at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri 64138 at 12:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Rudy Garcia, Jr., Anthony D. Garcia, Jacob R. Ortiz, Ryan R. Ortiz, Dominic Garcia, and Philip Gastl.
