

Marie Carolyn (Champ) Dugan, 67, loving wife, mother and grandmother died Sunday, December 18, 2011 at her home at Hidden Lake Living Center. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27th at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 9020 E. 51st St. Terr., Kansas City, MO 64133. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. There will be a private committal service at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. Marie was born on April 29, 1944 in Newport News, Virginia. After marrying Jerry, she completed her degree in nursing. She retired from the Gary County Health Department in Junction City, KS, where she was the administrator of the WIC Program. In recent years she volunteered her time at Hidden Lake Care Center and visited residents. She was also an active member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church and a devoted volunteer for the past three years. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She touched everyone with her joy and abiding faith. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Milton H. and Dorothy E. Champ and a brother, Fred Champ. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Dugan; a son, Andy Dugan and wife, Erin; a daughter, Karen Svoboda and husband, Mark; grandsons, Colin Dugan, David Snyder and wife, Julie; great grandchildren, Nathan and Kaylie Snyder and sister, Susan Ewing.
