Marie Celeste Puccio Sirna

Marie Celeste (Puccio) Sirna, 93, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away September 16, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, followed by burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation services are from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. Mrs. Sirna was born November 1, 1917 in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of Giovanna (Zummo) and Antonio Puccio. She was a member of St. Thomas More Parish. Her husband and son owned and operated the Southview Golf Club in Belton, Missouri over 40 years. She survived her husband for over 30 years, maintaining a very socially active lifestyle. She loved cooking and entertaining, spending time with friends and family, shopping for the latest fashions, playing gin rummy and poker, and frequenting the newest restaurants in town. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Basil Sirna, sisters Gennie Puccio, Frances Hoffman and Virginia Berbiglia and her husband Joe Berbiglia. She is survived by her son B. Victor “Butch” Sirna and daughter-in-law Anna Rose; granddaughters Gwendolyn Sirna, Taryn Sirna, and Colleen Sirna Whiteside; great-grandson Calvin Whiteside; niece Delores and Lee Wheeler of Oklahoma City, and Sherel, Leonard, Ralph, Norman and Victor; nephew Gary and Roxane Berbiglia, Rachel Berbiglia and Geoffrey Allison, Rebecca Berbiglia and Michael Morris all of Lenexa, KS; nieces Joan Fortunato of Florida, Barbara Sirna Miros, Joanne Sirna Schaaf, Connie Malaponti Marascuilo and Josephine Malaponti; and nephews Victor Carl Sirna, Gary Basil Sirna and Thomas Malaponti.
