Marie was born April 2, 1934 to Earl Edward Helstrom and Elizabeth Helen (Tewilliger) Helstrom in Elmira, NY. Before moving to Kansas City, she worked for a police department on the east coast. For the last several years Marie has been a friend to the Shoal Creek Patrol Division of KCPD. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Bernard Walters and her son, Ronald J. Vandermark.
At 2:30 PM Wednesday, September 30th, Marie will be laid to rest with her husband in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.
