Marilyn Sue Perry, 83, of Overland Park, KS, passed away January 22, 2022 at KU Medical Center. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, February 10th, at 11:00 AM at Antioch Church at 5201 Antioch Rd., Overland Park, KS 66202. Visitation will precede the service at 10:00 AM.
Marilyn was born November 28, 1938 in Energy, IL. She had one older brother, Gilbert, and graduated high school in 1956. She met Aaron Perry, her husband of 60 years, in 1960 at church. They married on December 30, 1962, and had two children, Melanie and Matthew.
Marilyn and Aaron built their family and home with a primary focus on Christ and the church. Aaron was an associate pastor at many churches and while Marilyn supported him through music… playing the piano and accordion. They went on to counsel with many setting the pace and example for how to raise and build a God first family… building a foundational marriage that would endure any and all challenges until God called her home (60 years later).
Marilyn was also a prayer warrior. She was one that would truly pray for people and their needs when asked. She would often awake at night with people on her mind for prayer. She was in sync with the needs of others and many were protected through her diligent prayers.
Her 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren were the delight of her life in her later years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, F.J. and Eliza Lillian Hudson, as well as her brother, Gilbert Hudson.
Survivors include her husband, Aaron Perry; children, Melanie and Kevin Carlisle, Matthew and Sharon Perry; grandchildren Shawn and Hannah Carlisle, Tyler and Annie Carlisle, Victoria and Hunter Martinez, Moriah and Steven Schowengerdt, Josiah Perry; and great grandchildren Pierson Carlisle, Jocelyn Carlisle, Lizzie Carlisle, Ella Carlisle, Eila Schowengerdt, Blythe Schowengerdt, and Luella Schowengerdt.
