Marilyn Raye Summers, 76, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on January 6, 2024. Marilyn was born on September 25, 1947, in Lexington, Missouri, to Alfred and Doris Jean Marchetti (Henderson).

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Summers; her parents; her brother, Logan Marchetti; and her great-granddaughter, Kimber Jackson.

Marilyn is survived by her loving children, Mary Beth Smith (Steve) of Independence, MO, Robert Baskett (Samantha) of Raymore, MO, Raymond Summers (Lisa) of Raymore, MO, and Sandy Summers (Terri) of Lawrence, KS; her brother, John Marchetti (Terri) of Independence, MO; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Marilyn had a fulfilling career with the State of Missouri, working as a caseworker in the Family Services Offices. She dedicated herself to serving senior citizens and took great pride in caring for "her people". Marilyn started her career in Platte City, MO and retired from the Warrensburg, MO office.

Outside of her work, Marilyn had a passion for the Kansas City Chiefs. She avidly followed the team and had a special fondness for players Tony Gonzalez and Travis Kelce, whom she affectionately referred to as her "husbands". Marilyn was also an enthusiastic reader, with a particular love for Stephen King's novels. Throughout her adult life, she enjoyed various hobbies such as macrame, knitting, and cross-stitch.

Cremation is planned for Marilyn, with a private family/friends service at Newcomer's Floral Hills Cemetery in Kansas City, MO, at the time of the burial of her ashes. The exact date of the service is yet to be determined.

Marilyn Raye Summers will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her memory will forever be cherished.
