

Mac was born April 15, 1941 in Bosworth, MO to Harold and Mildred McWilliams. In 1965 he began his 58 year career with Yellow Freight. He was a union member (Teamsters Local 41) and served as a union steward for 36 years. Mac married Lela and they shared 54 years together before she passed in 2015. Since 2016 Mac has shared his life with his domestic companion Virginia Ferguson.
Mac was involved in many organizations including the Ararat Shrine Center, Ararat Country Classics, Ararat Swap Meet, Ararat Car Show, Raytown Masonic Lodge 391, Moose Lodge 10, Director Starr, Oriental Band, Jackson County Shrine Club, Hillbillies, Provost, Order of Quetzalcoatl, and Royal Order of the Jester.
Mac is preceded in death by his wife Lela McWilliams, his parents Harold and Mildred, a daughter Janet Buus, and brother Milton Dale McWilliams. He is survived by his daughter Karrie Kay Hernschel, son James Miller, domestic companion Virginia Ferguson, brothers Roger McWilliams and Glenn McWilliams, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation for Mac will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, the service will begin at 10:00 AM at Ararat Shrine Center (5100 Ararat Drive, Kansas City, MO 64129). Following the service will be a graveside committal at Big Creek Cemetery (Co Rd 306, Bosworth, MO 64623). After returning from the gravel site around 5:00 PM family and friends will be gathering for hamburgers and tots, Mac favorite, at the Moose Lodge in Sugar Creek Mo.
