Marion “Joe” Yeager, 81, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, March 22nd, 6:00 p.m., at McGilley State Line Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to John Knox Village Hospice, 237 NW Murray Road, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081.
Joe was born February 8, 1931 on a farm in Rose Hill, KS. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1949 and played football at Wichita State. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1950, and was stationed in Schenectady, New York, where he met and married Leonora Zimmermann in 1952. He retired from the U.S. Post Office. Joe loved to play golf with his brother Donny and enjoyed all sports.
Joe is survived by his brother, Donald and wife Jeanne Yeager; son, Richard K. Yeager and wife Karen; daughters, Sandra M. Box and Denise A. Mann; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
