Mark W. Seigfreid

Mark Welling Seigfreid, 52, died peacefully on Monday evening, November 1, 2010. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 6, at 9:00 a.m. at Visitation Catholic Church, 5141 Main, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 5, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the home of Susan and John Crowe, 1015 W. 54th Street, Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to some of the schools of Mark's beloved nieces and nephews, Rockhurst High School, 9301 State Line Road, Kansas City, Missouri, St. Teresa's Academy, 5600 Main, Kansas City, Missouri, and Visitation Catholic School, 5134 Baltimore Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri. Mark was born to James T. and Donna Seigfreid on June 5, 1958. Mark is being welcomed into heaven by his loving mother Donna and brother Stephen Seigfreid. Mark was a graduate of the University of Missouri and a lifelong Tiger fan. He started a successful career in advertising, public relations and marketing in New York City. Mark then moved to Los Angeles, where he worked with the Young & Rubicam advertising agency. One of Mark's noteworthy clients was Universal Studios. Mark returned to Kansas City some years ago to continue his successful career in marketing and to be with his ill brother, Stephen. Mark was a wonderful caregiver to Stephen and a source of love and comfort to his brother. Mark's nieces and nephews were his pride and joy. He attended their games, recitals, graduations, and events of all kind (great and small) with a zeal usually reserved for admiring parents of their own children. Mark will be dearly missed by his father James T. and wife Jean Seigfreid; brother Tom and his wife Stephanie and their children, John Thomas and Sophia; sister and brother-in-law Susan and John Crowe and their children, Jack, Henry, Grace and Martin. Mark's courageous battle against cancer was hard fought, inspirational and aided by his loving friend, Kay Cangelose.
