

Marleta Colliver Sloan, 95, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away June 18, 2011 to be reunited with the love of her life, James Scott Sloan. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by Funeral Mass on Thursday, June 23, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. Interment immediately following in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to St. Thomas More Catholic Church and/or Crossroads Hospice, 9237 Ward Parkway, Suite 300, Kansas City, Missouri 64114. Mrs. Sloan was born January 21, 1916 in Marshall, Missouri, daughter of Herman and Wilma Mae (Guilford) Colliver. She retired from Beta Sigma Phi in 1980. She was very active with the St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Mrs. Sloan loved to walk, was an avid golfer and had a passion for travel. She was a passionate KC Chiefs fan and a 40-year volunteer at St. Luke’s on the Plaza and St. Joseph Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband James in 1955, her sister Pauline Chapman, and grandson Patrick Crenshaw. She is survived by her daughter Phyllis and her husband Wayne Siler of south Kansas City, Missouri; daughter Sharon and her husband Gary Crenshaw of Lee's Summit, Missouri; grandchildren Shelly Crenshaw Donovan, Kevin Crenshaw, Chris Crenshaw, Juliee Tschirhart and Scott Siler; and eleven great-grandchildren.
