Martha Solis Hernandez

Martha S. Hernandez, 90, of Lee’s Summit, Mo died August 20, 2017 in Mexico while on vacation visiting family. Mass of Christina Burial will be 9:00 am Friday, September 1, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help/Redemptorist Fathers Catholic Church, 3333 Broadway, KCMO. Burial to follow in Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd., KCMO, where the rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm.

Martha was born July 29, 1927 in Herrington, KS to Marcos and Dolores (Pacheco) Solis. Martha worked for several companies in the garment industry as a seamstress. She married Felix Hernandez and had six children. Martha was preceded in death by Felix in 2002.

In addition to her husband, Martha was preceded in death by her son, Marcos Hernandez; four brothers and 2 sisters. Martha is survived by five children, Maria Guadalupe Bernal (Richard), Jesse D. Hernandez (Mary), Felix S. Hernandez (Tracy), Adelaida “Della” Hernandez and Leonardo Jose Hernandez; daughter-in-law Michelle Hernandez; 29 grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren.
