Martha Norris

Martha Rose Norris, 86, departed this life for a better one on October 5, 2011. She was born on Oct. 23, 1924 to Thomas F. Norris and Agnes Barry Norris. Martha’s parents and sisters, Mary Catherine and Elizabeth, preceded her in death. During her long career as a social worker, Martha was instrumental in the creation of a Catholic Charities office in Warrensburg, MO. She also worked for that agency in the Kansas City Dioceses in both Kansas and Missouri for many years and specialized in local and international adoptions.

Visitation for Martha will be 6:30-8 pm (Rosary at 7 pm) on Sunday, Oct. 9 at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd, KCMO. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00 am on Monday, Oct. 10 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help/Redemptorist Church, 3333 Broadway, KCMO. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Martha will be remembered and dearly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Catholic Charities, 20 W. 9th St., Kansas City, MO 64105.
