Mary was born on December 20, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was the daughter of Chester L. and Helen M. (Whelan) Edwards.
She graduated from Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kansas in 1964. Mary had a private pilot’s license since the age of 17, and was taught by her father how to fly. She served in the United States Air Force as a flight nurse doing medical evacuations of Vietnam Veterans out of Japan thru Alaska and back to the mainland. Mary attended Avila University and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1994. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 45 years at Menorah Medical Center.
Jim and Mary enjoyed traveling to Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Maui, Great Britain, Ireland, and Scotland. She was of member of Saint Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church and a member of the American Sewing Guild.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Chester L. and Helen M. Edwards. Mary loved spending time with her family and enjoying family dinners. She is survived by her husband, James R. Adams, sons, Robert Adams and wife, Angela, and Patrick Adams, and grandchildren, Sophia and Dominic Adams.
Funeral Services will be held at Saint Catherine of Sienna Parish, 4101 E. 105th Terrace, Kansas City, Missouri 64137. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.
