Jody was born Mary J. Powers on January 28, 1930 in Kansas City, MO and became a lifelong area resident.
Jody met her true love, Frank Adams, in 1949. They were married on October 1, 1951 and together they raised their two children, Kathleen and Bill. She and Frank shared many happy days together over the course of their nearly 66-year marriage.
Jody worked for the Internal Revenue Service from 1966-1976 and then spent 25 years working for H&R Block. She gave much of her time as a volunteer for St. Joseph Hospital, the Ladies of Charity, and the Church of the Nativity.
Jody was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife to Frank, dedicated mother to Kathy and Bill, and grandma to her seven grandchildren. She also had five great-grandchildren whom she saw often. Her grandkids have fond memories from their childhood of putting puzzles together with her and having tea parties. She attended many sporting events, choir concerts, and award ceremonies to support her children and grandchildren.
Jody loved to travel and had many friends all over the world. She also loved to play golf, spend time with her family, and play bridge. She loved holiday get-togethers and was known to create silly games at Christmas that always ensured that laughter would be part of the gift opening. She was solid in her faith, kind in her actions, wise in her advice, and an example to all who knew her. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
