

Mary Agnes Armendariz, 63, of Kansas City, Missouri, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, February 02, 2008 at her home. She was blessed with life on November 24, 1944, born to Juan & Stella Enriquez. A beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, she was a constant supporter of her family, she will be greatly missed. Mary was preceded in death by her father, Juan Santiago Enriquez; sister, Petra Hamilton; and nephews, John Lee Enriquez and Gary Enriquez. She leaves behind her five children and ten grandchildren: her son, Bliss Eugene Weeks, Jr., his wife, Diana, & stepson, Travis, all of Overland Park, Kansas; her daughter, Maria Lynch, her husband, Brian, & daughter, Samantha Nelson, all of Eudora, Kansas; her daughter, Renee Hoagland , her husband, James, & sons, Darion and Kaden, of Mesa, Arizona; her daughter, Yolanda Sustaita, her husband, Carlos, & their children, Alicia, Carlos Jr., and Antonina of Kansas City, Missouri; her son, Michael Armendariz, & his children, Michael, Monica, and Joseph, of Kansas City, Missouri; ex-husband and lifelong friend, George Armendariz; and mother-in-law, Margaret Armendariz.
Mary was born in Kansas City, Missouri. As a child she moved to El Paso, Texas, where she lived until returning to Kansas City as a teen. She worked as a meat packer her entire life, starting her career at Wilson Meat Packing. After 31 years of service with ConAgra Foods/Armour-Eckrich, she retired in September 2007. Our mother will always be remembered for her strength, beauty, and fast walking legs. A woman whose smile was always bright, even in the toughest of times. She was a true mother in heart, spirit, and soul. Her children have always come first. She will forever be in our hearts.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 04, 2008, 6-9 pm at McGilley Midtown Chapel, with the rosary at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 05, 2008 at 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (911 E. Missouri Ave, Kansas City, MO 64106). Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society of Greater Kansas City or the Cancer Action Center. Donations can be made at the services. The family would like to thank Father Pat Tobin, the doctors and nurses at KU Medical Center, along with her friends from ConAgra Foods for their care and support during these hard times.
