

Mary Frances Byers, 96, Prairie Village, Kan., passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Kansas City Hospice House. A Memorial Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 7, at Old Mission United Methodist Church. A reception will follow the service at the church.
Mary was born on Aug. 7, 1913, in Dallas, Texas, to Gilbert and Victoria (Alexander) Cammack. She was a graduate of Hockaday School in Dallas and Walnut Hill in Natick, Mass. Mary was married to Philip L. Byers on June 27, 1933, at The Little Church around the Corner in NYC. Mary was active with the USO during WWII and a member of the St. Luke's Hospital Ladies Auxiliary in the 50s and 60s.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Philip L. Byers, and her son, Philip Cammack Byers. She is survived by her daughter, Betty A. Robertson; sons, William F. Byers and wife Donnie and Robert M. Byers; daughter-in-law, Carolyn N. Byers; eight grandchildren, Robyn Anne Sumner, John N. Byers, Susan A. Traff, Peter C. Robertson, Walter P. (Chip) Robertson, Matthew N. Byers, David P. Byers, and Christopher W. Byers; nine great grandchildren, Mitchell, Cammack, Philip, Allie, Sarah, Audrianna, Brody, Mia, Dawson.
