Mary "Sue" Donnelly

Mary was born on September 8, 1937, to Eugene and Isabel Brauner. She was the eldest of 11 children. She married Denny in 1956 and lived in Kansas City, Missouri where they raised 4 children. She was a stay-at-home mom until they were all in school full time.

In 1968 she began her career in the food service department at Research Hospital until 2003 when she retired after 35 years.

She loved to travel and loved to read. She enjoyed gardening, attending shows at Starlight and the New Dinner Theater. There were also the lunches spent with her lifelong friends from elementary school. Most importantly she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Denny, after 64 years of marriage, her daughter Diane, her parents and siblings Judy, Robert, Donald, Joan, David and Gerard.

She leaves her children, Susan (Mike), Dennis (Sandy) and Patti (Mike); her siblings, Nancy, Rick, Terry, and Jim; along with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled for June 17, 2026 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, KCMO at 6:00pm.

Memorial mass will be June 18, 2026 at St. Thomas More, 11822 Holmes Road, KCMO at 11:00am.
