Mary Blackburn Foree, 78, passed away August 5, 2014. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 11, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Private graveside at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Mary was born April 2, 1936, daughter of Clyde A. and Evelyn A. (Martin) Blackburn. She was a lifelong area resident. Mary attended Southeast High School and the University of Kansas. She retired from Burns & McDonnell after 29 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Mary is survived by her son Scott Foree and wife Brenda of Overland Park, Kansas; granddaughter Alison Parker and husband Garrett of Olathe, Kansas; granddaughter Melissa Foree of Lawrence, Kansas; great-grandson Andrew Parker; and beloved granddog Buster.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital Cardiac Dept., 2401 Gillham Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64108.
