Mary Patricia Gulledge was born on May 15, 1933, daughter from the union of Opal and Oliver Birge who preceded her in death along with husband, Robert Paul Gulledge, brothers, Gary Birge and Danny Birge and son Kyle Gulledge.
She leaves behind son Keith Gulledge, daughter-in-law, Robbi Gulledge, daughter Julie Gulledge, grandchildren, Lisa McKenzie and grandson-in-law Dylon Maxey, Danny McKenzie and granddaughter-in-law Dorothy McKenzie and Bryan Gulledge and significant other, Kristin Peters and great-granddaughters Alyssa McKenzie and Becca McKenzie; great-grandchildren Tisha, Johnathan, Wisdom, Rebecca & Addonas Maxey; Denny, Donny, Danny Fitzpatric and their families. Morgan and Taylor Mace and baby Raylin.
Mary went to North East High School where she graduated. She worked at Bendex where she retired.
Mary served on the Board of Directors for Parents of Murdered Children for almost 23 years and was very active in helping families deal with homicide of their loved ones. She wrote the newsletter, wrote and kept track of 2 grants, was treasurer, helped with the annual reports for the National Office. She served on the Board for VictimsNet for many years. Helped and was a part of many vigils and events for families of homicide.
She loved her little dog, Lacey. And all the dogs she had previously. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her family and friends. She was one of the most kind and loving person I know. Always wanted to help.
Mary will be sadly missed by so many that she touched locally and across the Nation.
Mary passed away on April 20, 2020.
