Mary Lou LaPietra, 78, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015. Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, at Antioch Church, 5201 Antioch Road, Overland Park, Kansas, 66202 with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Mary Lou was born on August 21, 1937 in Merriam, Kansas. She was the daughter of Roy and Wilma (Carson) Snyder. She was an avid reader, loved gardening and enjoyed her flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Barbara. Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 43 years, Gene R. LaPietra; daughters, Cherie Hornbeck and Kellie Hansen; sons, Raymond LaPietra (Linda), Robert LaPietra (Kristy); grandchildren, Brandy Brown, Buddy J. Hanson, Scott Hupp (Racehl), Matthew C. Szechenyi, Timothy LaPietra and Adam LaPietra; great-grandchildren, Megan Purdam, Ashley Gonzalez; and great-great grandchildren, Alex, Christopher and Ayvie.
