

Mary Anne Lusk, 75, of Leawood, KS passed away on December 22, 2021, from natural causes after a long battle with cancer. Born on April 13, 1946, in Wichita, KS, she is the daughter of Dorothy (Budock) Wright Johnston of Wichita, Kansas and the late John Hanner Wright.
After graduating from Cheney High School, Mary Anne attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri where she met and fell in love with the love of her life, Charles Burress Lusk, on a blind date. Together they moved to Norman, OK to continue their education at the University of Oklahoma, and they married in 1966.
Upon graduation, Charles and Mary Anne moved to the Kansas City area, and she became a math teacher where she made a significant impact on each and every student she taught. She took time off from teaching to raise her children, and then returned to teaching. She also pursued her passion in computer science studying at University of Missouri at Warrensburg and became the head of computer science at Harrisonville High School from which she retired.
In retirement, Mary Anne enjoyed playing bridge with friends, spending time with her family, traveling the world with Charles and doting on her granddaughters.
Those left to cherish her memory are: Dorothy Johnston (mother) of Wichita, KS, John Ellsworth Wright (brother) of Cheney, KS, daughters Melea Lusk (m. – Carl Castrogiovanni) of Lake Forest, IL, Charlyn Lusk (m. – Don Lichter) of New York, NY; and granddaughters Allison and Valerie Lichter of New York, NY.
In addition to her father, Mary Anne was preceded in death by her husband Charles and her sister Patsy (Wright) Williams.
Per Mary Anne’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
