Mary Ann Mills

Mary was the first born of the union of Robert and Bernice Butler on Oct. 16, 1956. Both parents preceded her in death, along with her brother Robert Butler Jr. and sons Larse and Billy Mills.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 48 years, William ‘Bill’ Mills, her loving daughter, Jamesetta Mills, grandsons Branden and Christopher, granddaughters, Alenia, Brooke, and Victoria, and great-granddaughter Penny.

She also leaves her sisters, Christina, Ella, Roberta, Mattie, Ernestine, Darlene, and Lori. As well as brothers, Michael, Carlos, and Leon. Along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lifelong friends, Karen, Carmeleta, and many others, too numerous to name.

Mary graduated from Westport H.S., KCMO, class of 1974. After graduation, Mary was always working. Lynn Insurance Co., Jackson County Juvenile Court, and finally retiring from the U.S. District Court. KCMO in 2018.

Mary was a devout Proverbs 31 Christian Woman, serving with her husband Bill in their counseling ministry. Sharing their wisdom and God’s word with many couples. They were avid bowlers, participating in many leagues and Tournaments for over 30 years.

She lovingly called her husband Bill “Bay” and he will be forever grateful for the time they shared together; he will never forget the Love of his Life!

Visitation will be held at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131, on May 1, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 pm. Burial will take place at Mount Moriah Cemetery South at 1:00 pm.
