Mary was born on September 26, 1957, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Anthony “Tony” Quirarte and Refugia “Ruth” Quirarte. She attended St. Theresa’s High School and went on to dedicate 33 years of service to AT&T, where she built lasting friendships and built a respected career.
Mary found joy in life’s simple pleasures — reading a good book, playing cards, and most of all, spending time with her family. She had a vibrant personality and was often the life of the party. Affectionately nicknamed “Queen” by her friends and family, Mary’s warmth, humor, and strong spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She is survived by her daughter, Erica Peoples (Eugene); her son, Chris Oades (Krystal); and six cherished grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving mother, Ruth; four sisters; and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her father, Anthony “Tony” Quirarte.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 4, at Church of the Resurrection. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity to be designated by the family.
Mary will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her laughter, love, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her.
