Mary Marie Schmidli passed away on August 28, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born on June 20, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was the beloved daughter of Merton and Marie Lewis. Mary was a resident of Independence, Missouri, and was known for her kind-hearted, hard-working, selfless, and compassionate nature.
Mary cherished her role as a greeter at Costco, where she dedicated 18 years. Her warm smile and welcoming demeanor left a lasting impression on all who met her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Schmidli, her daughter, Tammy Trimble, and her sons, Darrell and Matthew. Mary was a proud grandmother to her grandsons Ryan and Ross Trimble, Korbin and Kade Schmidli, Weston and Wyatt Schmidli, and her great-grandsons Gage and Cohen Trimble. She was preceded in death by her parents and her 15 brothers and sisters.
A visitation will be held on September 3, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133. The funeral service will follow from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with a graveside service from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm at the same location.
