

Mary J. Schneider, 90, of Raytown, Missouri, passed away peacefully with her family at her side March 28, 2011 at the Kansas City Hospice House. The Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011 with a funeral service to follow at Blue Ridge Trinity Lutheran Church, 5757 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Raytown, Missouri. Interment to follow at 12:00 p.m., at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Mary was born April 15, 1920 at Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. (Estella G. Teeple) Weber, Sr. She grew up in the Merriam and Roeland Park, Kansas area of metro Kansas City the only girl in a family of seven brothers. She attended Roseland Elementary and Shawnee Mission Rural High School. She married Henry F. Schneider, Jr in 1940 and they lived in Raytown until 1999 moving to Temple Height Manor II apartments after Henry passed away. Mary was a stay at home mother for most of her life until her children were gone from home. She then started a career in a field she had always loved and excelled at cooking wonderful food for large groups. She became the head cook for Children’s Mercy Hospital, Florence Crittenton Center and the former Indian Creek Nursing Home in the Kansas City metro area quitting only after her husband retired. Survivors include a son and daughter, Richard C. Schneider (Barbara Ann), Overland Park, Kansas, Janet S. Beebe (Tim), Lee’s Summit, Missouri; four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999, parents and six of her brothers.
