Mary Edna Spotts

Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church of Smithville for over 50 years, much of that time caring for infants and toddlers in the church nursery.

Preceding her in death were her husband Melvin, her son Kevan, two brothers Arthur Dean VanHoy and Winston Raybourn and a sister Dolores VanHoy Cumpton. She is survived by her sister Sandra Aldrich, two daughters Alethea (Gary) Veylupek of Austin, Texas and Karen (Ron) Bullock of Kennesaw, Georgia, four grandchildren Felicity (Brady) Foster, Jocelyn Veylupek, Megan (Josh) Jenkins and Matthew (Monika) Bullock, three great grandchildren Penelope Foster, Lucas Bullock and Bronson Jenkins.

Celebration of Life services are 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15 at the First Baptist Church of Smithville. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Inurnment on a later date at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Contributions are welcome to the First Baptist Church of Smithville; 300 South Church Street; Smithville, MO 64089.
