Born in Independence on February 26, 1952, Mary grew up in Northeast Kansas City as the second of eight children born to a plumber father and a dedicated, stay-at-home mother. Though her first job was at Russell Stover, Mary always knew her true calling. She dreamed of becoming a nurse, ultimately becoming "the nurse" for her entire extended family.
Mary graduated from Cardinal Glennon High School in 1970 and earned her nursing degree from the Research College of Nursing in 1973. She dedicated her entire 40-year career to serving others at Research Medical Center, where she ultimately retired as the Acting Director of Cardiovascular Services. Her exceptional dedication and leadership were recognized in 2010 when she was proudly inducted into the Research College of Nursing Hall of Fame.
Outside of her professional life, Mary found immense joy in the simple pleasures. She loved taking care of people, tending to her garden and flowers, sewing, and cross-stitching. She had a passion for the outdoors, especially camping by the water and attending the annual family reunions at Camp Jefferson. An avid sports fan, she loved watching baseball especially watching her grandson Hudson play. Above all, her family was her world, and her grandchildren were her absolute passion and favorite topic of conversation. Whether taking the girls to the nail salon or gathered with family, her love was unconditional.
Mary was united in marriage to the love of her life, Mike Warner, on October 24, 1992.
She was preceded in death by her father, George J. Jonas (2001); her mother, Dorothy M. Jonas (2016); her brother-in-law, Kevin M. Nauser (1988).
She is survived by her beloved husband, Mike Warner of the home; her children, Michael F. Warner (Emily) of Blue Springs, MO, Joshua R. Lee (Erin) of Overland Park, KS, daughter Amanda R. St. Julien (Rob) of Scott, LA, and Christopher S. Lee (Casey) of Kearney, MO; and her cherished grandchildren, Alexis Berding, Hudson Lee, Evie St. Julien, Lyla St. Julien, Oliver and Sawyer Lee. She also leaves behind her sisters, Trudy Jonas(Chris Petrovic) and Theresa Nauser; her brothers, Matthew Jonas (Mary Ann), Mike Jonas (Linda), Fred Jonas (Lori), Francis Jonas (Tammy), and George Jonas and many beloved nieces and nephews.
