
Mrs. Whitesell grew up in St. Joseph, Mo., where she graduated from St. Joseph Junior College. She worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 31 years, initially as a clerical supervisor in St. Louis, Mo., and later as an auditor in Kansas City, Mo. After her retirement, she worked as a sales clerk for Macy’s and later Dillard’s at the Antioch Mall. She was a member of the Oblates of Conception Abbey and the Alter Society of St. Gabriel’s parish in Kansas City North.
Mrs. Whitesell is survived by her husband, Frank M. Whitesell; daughter, Mary Charlotte Doyle; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Johannah Doyle, Joseph Leo Doyle and John Francis Doyle; three sisters Harriet Koppen Brown, Judith Koppen Whalen, Carol Antonia Koppen, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Johannah Draut Koppen; father, Harry Theodore Koppen ; brother, William Anthony Koppen and sister, Charlotte Jane Koppen .
funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 13th at St. Gabriel’s Parish with visitation and the rosary at 9 a.m. Interment will follow at the Resurrection Cemetery in Kansas City.
